New Homeowners Association Announces Board Members

June 04, 2007

With the continued growth and expansion of the community comes the establishment of Oak Grove’s second homeowners association. Nominated and elected by residents of the community in late March 2007, this newly formed board consists of five resident members: Jan Ash, David McDowell, Bryson Vogeltanz, Aaron Johnson and Marli Nutt. According to social chairwoman, Jan Ash, the group is a “nice, well-rounded mixture of people.” “We’ve got older and younger members, women and men and residents from all parts of the neighborhood—every street is represented.”

The new board, along with Oak Grove developer Ashley Hill, met as a group for the first time on Sunday, March 24th at the neighborhood’s model home. Still in an early stage of development, the association is currently responsible for overseeing lawn maintenance contracts and maintaining the homeowners pay fund, which covers the costs of street lights and garbage pick-up for the neighborhood. The association will oversee the establishment of new clubhouse and pool rules and regulations and supervise issues such as clubhouse rental and clean-up. The new board hopes to revise and create new governing rules at upcoming meetings to address issues such as officer elections and length of terms.

Eric Robinson, development manager for Oak Grove, will work with the new board to make the community an even better place to live.

“I am very excited about the new board,” said Robinson. “I think they are a great group of people with a lot of mature decision-making abilities.”

As one of its first major projects, the new homeowners association will host the Fourth of July pool party at the new Oak Grove clubhouse and pool.
